NEW EPOCH SETS AS OYO PEPVAN INUGURATE NEW EXECUTIVES.

Inauguration Speech delivered by Adetunji Adekunle S. Wonders as the new president of Professional Event Planners and Vendors Association of Nigeria(PEPVAN) on 25/07/2021.

The Patron, The Matron, The Board of Trustees, the administrators of PEPVAN, distinguished CEOs of various event outfits that make up PEPVAN, invited guests here seated, distinguished ladies and gentlemen.

It is with mixed feelings that I stand here as the second President, the first successor of the founding President of this great association, PEPVAN.

The outgoing President is leaving a big shoe for me to step into, and I see it as a great privilege to be considered to lead our association going forward.

As a matter of importance, I will like to appreciate the relentless efforts of our founding heroes who took it upon themselves to establish this body. Indeed, their selflessness, thoughtfulness and sacrifices have helped in building and sustaining this body which started with less than five members and has continued to grow in leaps and bounds.

Without mincing words,we are all here today because of the great ideas, coordinated thoughts and unflinching commitment to seeing EVENTPRENEURS come together as one for networking, collaborations, continuous training and improvement, as well as together finding solutions to our common and peculiar challenges so as to mitigate the economy degradation and employment deficit in the country.

Of a truth, you have pulled resources together in terms of finances, time and energy to ensure PEPVAN stands on a solid foundation. We collectively say thank you, may history be kind to you.

I was elected as the President alongside dynamic, great, energetic, resourceful and selfless executive members, who are also ready to continue and to take this association to enviable heights.

John Maxwell said and I sincerely agree that "TOGETHER, EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM).

Dear CEOs, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, as part of our manifesto, we shall be working tirelessly to make everyone relevant and this is in terms of being responsive to your yearnings for training and retraining, promoting healthy collaboration and ensuring our policies favour the growth of your businesses in a healthy atmosphere which will in turn make PEPVAN enjoy significant growth.

Dear PEPVANites, you will agree with me that the event world is a difficult terrain and leading the leaders is challenging as it is a known fact that each CEO is a commander of his/her team.

Nevertheless, we appeal for sincere support for this new administration to grow PEPVAN and by extension, our businesses, in order to match up with the dynamism and competitiveness of the millennial era and ever growing corporate sector.

In the words of Barack Obama, "When I think that I will be alone, abandoned by all, I prefer to enjoy communion/association when I am alive..."

Therefore, we solicit for all hands to be on deck. Let us attend meetings appropriately at different levels and make our voices heard too. Instead of giving up or exiting, let us objectively present our points. We should all endeavour to contribute meaningfully and play our individual roles well to satisfy our consciences so as to be on the positive side of history.

Of course, we do not expect it to be a ride without bumps, we rely on God and your constructive ideas and advices, and together we shall build the PEPVAN of our dreams.

We shall be collaborating with the government at different levels as well corporate organisations to solve different challenges and ensure smooth runnings of our businesses.

Once again, thank you so much and let us enjoy the ride together.

Are you ready? Can we depend on you? Together we can, together we will!

God bless PEPVAN!

God bless Oyo State!!

God bless Nigeria!!!

Thank you all.

Similar intervention has been made in other zones in the state.

Who is Joseph Tegbe? As many asked prior to 2019 APC gubernatorial candidate election, many were amazed to know Tegbe as  the man that worked under the Ajimobi led administration as the economic advisor to Oyo State Government, many saw him as the late Ajimobi’ protégé, one will say they are not wrong as time flies, Engineer Joseph has been in the public space more in his love for youth development, businesses and citizens of Nigeria, Tegbe is a one way man as he shares his philanthropic love not just to his party members but to every life he can touch irrespective of party affliction. *INVESTIGATION: Outcry as Oyo Pilgrim Board failed to refund charges after cancellation of 2021 pilgrimage exercise*

The Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) has been called out for its refusal to expedite the refund of all Hajj charges of already cancelled 2021 pilgrimage exercise.

It was gathered that the board under the leadership of Prof. Malik Sayed Hamzah had earlier opened application for the pilgrimage and had recieved a sum of N1.2milion as Hajj charges and N245,000 for PTA.

One of the victims while recounting the ordeals and like to claim anonymity said that the Saudi government had cancelled 2021 pilgrimage, hence the need for the refund of all charges but the board has been used as an appendage for partisan politics in the state.

"After the cancellation of the exercise from the Saudi government, Oyo state Pilgrims Welfare Board instructed that a form be filled for those who are willing to get refund of their Hajj charges and it would be refunded or whoever wants to use the same charges for next year's pilgrimage would also be refunded but in exemption of PTA charges.

"With the investigation made, after forms have been filled as instructed, all categories of people stated above, the government is yet to return their respective charges. Also, it was well established that Oyo state government haven't paid the Saudi government any sum for the pilgrimage exercise but we didn't know what delay the refund.

"Despite our outcry, the board still failed to address our plight but had only commenced payment for all PDP members among pilgrims, noting that all recipients of the refund are PDP members." He said

Therefore, this call out is imperative as the Chairman of Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing), Prof. Malik Sayed Hamzah had failed in its responsibility to uphold integrity and fairness.

The board's refusal to refund all intending pilgrims has heightened the lamentation of people who are the victims, seeking a redress for such ineptitude action.

All efforts to reach out to the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing)'s Chairman, Prof. Malik Sayed Hamzah to confirm the incident proved abortive.

The Founder of Tegbe Foundation, Engr Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe on Saturday charged the youth of Ibarapa area and Oyo state in general to take advantage of their numerical strength to elect competent and compassionate leaders. This, he said, can only be ensured if they participate in party politics and the entire electoral process.

Tegbe was speaking at the Ibarapa Progressive Youth Summit which held on Saturday at the Heritage Resort Hall, Igboora.

Tegbe, an Ibadan Mogaji, pledged that in addition to other empowerment activities, his Foundation would sponsor the University Education of selected Ibarapa Indigenes. He also gave a handsome financial donation to the Ibarapa Progressive Youth Forum

Tegbe, who is a leading gubernatorial aspirant used the opportunity to continue his consultation with party elders, chairmen and other stakeholders from Ibarapa zone. He emphasised the need for all stakeholders in the party to stay United and work together to produce credible candidates across board so the party can return to the Agodi Government House.

The Ibarapa G9 Leaders led by Pa Timothy Jolaoso while responding, appreciated Tegbe for his continuous interaction and support to Ibarapa people. They lauded his humility, generosity and continuous support to the party in Ibarapa Land and Oyo state in general.
