*"Alaafin’s death is a huge loss to humanity" - Engr. Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen mourns Alaafin of Oyo*

I received with utmost shock the news of the passing of our First Class monarch, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III this morning and express my heartfelt condolences to sons and daughters of Oyo town, and Alaafin’s empire over the demise.

Oba Adeyemi’s death is a huge loss to the Oyo kingdom, Oyo State and humanity in general. His reign reinforced the town as a land of peace, accommodating and a bastion of history and tradition. However, he had made an indelible mark as one of the great monarchs in Yoruba history.

The late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, in his life, brought great development to the ancient town of Oyo, and he would be remembered for his courage, consistency, love and compassion for his subjects.

It is my prayer that Allah gives Alaafin’s family and the entire Oyo Kingdom fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss at this hard time and pray to Almighty Allah to grant the departed soul Aljannah Firdaus.
