Kolapo Kola-Daisi is of the illustrious Bashorun Kola-Daisi family of Ibadan, a dynasty that has contributed immensely to the educational and commercial development in Ibadan land.

Kolapo, a financial expert and business executive with over 20 years experience in the private sector is an early achiever, having become a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales at 25, and an executive at 34. Oyo Central Senatorial Aspirant, Engr Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen has reacted to the death of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III who joined his ancestors in the early hours of today. 

Faozey who released a statement through his media office, said although the late monarch lived a fulfilled life, yet his death is still a painful pill because he enjoyed a father-son’s relationship with him.

“Baba’s death is a loss not just to Oyo Kingdom but to the entire Yoruba land. Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III was a mobile library and a custodian of old and contemporary history.  He was a wise king who provided counsel to the younger generation, he stood as a hallmark of culture. This loss is unquantifiable but we take refuge in the supremacy of Almighty Allah. 

May the royal family and the entire kingdom be comforted and may Almighty Allah grant him Al-jannah Firdaus.

I received with utmost shock the news of the passing of our First Class monarch, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III this morning and express my heartfelt condolences to sons and daughters of Oyo town, and Alaafin’s empire over the demise.

Oba Adeyemi’s death is a huge loss to the Oyo kingdom, Oyo State and humanity in general. His reign reinforced the town as a land of peace, accommodating and a bastion of history and tradition. However, he had made an indelible mark as one of the great monarchs in Yoruba history.

The late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, in his life, brought great development to the ancient town of Oyo, and he would be remembered for his courage, consistency, love and compassion for his subjects.

It is my prayer that Allah gives Alaafin’s family and the entire Oyo Kingdom fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss at this hard time and pray to Almighty Allah to grant the departed soul Aljannah Firdaus.

The frontline aspirant for Oyo Central Senatorial seat, Engr Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen has a paid a visit to Sen Abdullahi Adamu, the newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to discuss developments in Oyo APC. 

Faozey who officially commenced a declaration tour around the 11 local governments of Atiba, Oluyole, Afijio, Ogo-Oluwa, Surulere, Oyo East, Akinleye, Oyo West, Ona- Ara  and Egbeda in Oyo Central Senatorial District, has generated a lot of support  among party faithful in every local government he has visited so far. 

The young techpreneur now a rallying point not just for young people in his senatorial district, has also been reportedly hosting peace meetings with different groups in the party, to strengthen APC’s chances in the forthcoming election cycle. 

It was reliably gathered that the visit to the National Chairman, which took place in Abuja is in furtherance of Faozey’s moves to unite the different factions in the party towards 2023.

 It was a gathering of notable Ibadan indigenes yesterday at the ancient Mapo Hall to witness the maiden edition of the Annual Ramadan Lecture hosted by the foremost Oyo South Senatorial District Hopeful, Prince Musbau Kolawole Asatola Asanike.

The lecture themed; "Applying Islamic Doctrines In Public Leadership To Banish Poverty In Nigeria", featured the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Alh. Sheik Abd. Ganiyy Agbotomokekere, as the special father of the day and Alh. Sheik Muhideen Ajani Bello as the guest speaker.

Sheik Muhideen in his message implored all Muslim faithfuls to embrace peace and emulate the leadership style of the holy prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). He said;

"with good leadership spirit, poverty will be seen as a common enemy both to the rich and poor to fight against and will be reduced drastically.

The scholar decried the way leaders seek political office for self aggrandizement and as an opportunity to scoop public funds into their personal, as well as their godfather's pockets.

An array of dignitaries who graced the occasion included the Deputy Governor of Oyo State; His Excellency, Rauf Olaniyan, former military governor of Lagos State; Chief Raji Rasaki, Chief Lateef Oyelade, Baba isale of musilumi of Ibadanland, Chief Nureni Akanbi, Mogaji Ile Iba oluyole, Chief Bayo Mustapha Oyero, former CCII president, Alh Bashir Ajibade,  former Tescom Chairman, Alh Taofeek Akeu Gba Gold, Alh Bao Oladeji.

Today, Oluyole local government received Engr Faozey who started a tour of all 11 local governments in Oyo Central Senatorial District last week. 

Speaking at the event, the leader of Oluyole Local Government, Baba Akilapa noted that he was impressed by the number of people who showed up to support Engr Faozey in Oluyole. 

“The faces here for Faozey today has just shown that he’s a worthy person. The caliber of people I’m seeing seated here, are not people who show up for just anybody. For them to be here, they are telling us that Engr Faozey is a trustworthy person and it gives me joy “

“It is important for APC Oyo Central to produce another senator that we would be proud of, we need to support a person who is learned , smart, trustworthy and competent.” He said.

Prince Kabir Gbadegesin, a representative of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi The Alaafin of Oyo, said he’s thankful to God that Oyo Central is blessed with a person imbued with the kind of intellect Engr Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen possesses. 

“Faozey has come prepared for this job, he won’t be a push over at the national level. He has been consulting for the National Assembly on telecommunications, and he is involved in different research to consolidate gains for the senate. 

“He made his name from years of hardwork and his cerebral capacity. Ife Ilu as he’s also called is different from other aspirants seeking for this position. He is the kind of representative we need for Oyo Central. “

Addressing the people, Faozey expressed his gratitude to everyone who came to show support, honoring him with their presence. He reiterated that he was not surprised at the turnout of supporters, knowing that Oluyole promotes quality people. 

“I appreciate everyone seated here today. This is the 3rd local government I’m visiting since I started the senatorial district tour last week. I am an advocate of Face-to-face governance, when I become your senator, I will not be far from you.” 

“It is not my first time contesting, I showed interest in 2019 and purchased the forms but I was asked to step down and support the candidate the party chose. I didn’t leave for another party, I supported our party up to this point and I’m here again to seek for your support. 

“I am willing and able to represent the good people of Oyo Central and I promise to give my best at this job. My aim is to contribute to the development of this district, not only through technology but also by harnessing the natural resources we have been blessed with. “

“Also, providing employment for our youth and ensuring the promotion of quality are at the front burners of my plans for Oyo Central Senatorial District. “

In continuing his declaration for the seat of the Senate, Oyo Central. Engr Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen’s train stopped at Atiba Local Government in Oyo on Sunday. 

Faozey, who officially declared his intention to represent the people of the district at Lagelu Local government last week, embarked on a tour of all local governments in his Senatorial District.

Expectedly, The people of Atiba Local government came out in their numbers to show support to Faozey and his team, showing off with a crowd that froze movement in the area. 

Captivated by the support he received from the local governments, the elated aspirant said the people’s body language is clearly speaking the language of FON, an acronym for Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen. 

“ I chose to go on a tour of all 11 local governments in my senatorial district, not just to declare my ambition for the senate, but also to engage each local government. To deliver on the promises I have made to you, It is important for me to drive on the roads you drive, it is imperative to see the schools your children attend, it is necessary to see the water you drink and sit with you. 

“Coming here today is a signal, to tell you the kind of representative I will be. I will not forsake you and I’ll deliver on my promises. Both young and old people of Atiba have honored me beyond my expectations by trooping out in this large numbers today, I will repay the favour by the grace of Almighty Allah through life transforming empowerments in different sectors.”

The immediate outgoing Youth Leader of Oyo State APC, Mogaji Isiak Areokuta who also spoke at the event attested to the youth giving unalloyed support to the ambition of FON.
